HEISELMAN NAMED 2009 VETERAN OF THE YEAR

The Polish Legion of American Veterans, U.S.A., Department of Ohio, will be honoring Fred J. Heiselman as the Pulaski Post #32 2009 Veteran of the Year.

Heiselman graduated from East High School. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Alaska during the Korean War. After discharge he worked in sales and transportation for RCA Rubber Co. He and his late spouse Agnes (Tonhauser) were married in 1961. They have one daughter, Joanne Stone, and two grandchildren, Alex and Kathie.

At Pulaski Post #32, which he joined in 1999, he has served in many positions, including his current position of Post Adjutant. He is actively weekly, supporting the Post where needed. .

Heiselman has raced homing pigeons for over 50 years and is a long-time member of the Greater Akron Racers Club.

A Banquet honoring him will be held on December 5, 2009 at the Birchwood Banquet & Party Center, 7540 Northfield Road (State Route 8), Walton Hills, Ohio 44146, (one block north of Alexander Road).
